How to Know When It’s Time to Replace Your Wiper Blades

You can expect to replace wiper blades every six months to a year, depending on your local environment and the quality of the blades you use. It’s time for a wiper blade replacement if you experience any of the following conditions:

• Streaks left on the windshield after using windshield fluid indicate damaged or bent wiper blades.
• Squeaking sounds during use suggest rubber blades have deteriorated or dirt has built up on the blades.
• “Chattering” noise during wiper use means the blades have lost their flexibility and are moving unevenly. 
• You’ve gone six months or longer without a wiper blade replacement.

How Wiper Blade Replacement Services Work 

Grease Monkey technicians visually inspect your wiper blades each time you come in for a Full Service Oil Change and will ask how your wiper blades are performing. If you need to replace wiper blades, new blades will be installed.

Things to Consider About Wiper Blade Replacement Services

Wiper blade replacement service replaces both blades, even if only one blade shows evidence of damage or deterioration. Blades are typically installed at the same time and exposed to the same environmental stressors, so if one blade has observable damage, chances are high that the other blade also needs replacing.
